Alas, the core of the Democrat's health care plan is revealed: tax the wealthy. Is anyone really surprised by this? Did anybody NOT see this coming? This has to be one of the single most imprudent plans ever conceived.
Our economy is sputtering and trying to recover. Congress has already saddled the present and the next generation with an onerous financial obligation. Now they want to expand federal spending further? They seek to avoid a deeper, wider river of red ink by taxing the people who drive corporate growth and innovation? This is socialism, pure and simple.
We all need to be deeply concerned about this. The Democrat's plan will almost certainly cost significantly more than they project: when has there ever been a project of this magnitude that has not? The nature of federal bureaucracies drive precisely this outcome: a bloated and ever-growing, cash-eating hydra. This will lead to either an increase of the taxes on the most economically successful Americans or deeper red ink or BOTH!
There are intelligent ways to deal with the health care issue. There are ways to pay for it which do not require suffocating the people who are supposed to be using their resources to feed economic growth. The plan as it is presently structured is unacceptable.
